from MASJID AL-MOMINEEN
Nov. 20, 2009
Eid Mubarak
Masjid Al-Momineen wishes you and your family a very happy and blessed Eid al-Adha.
It is officially announced in Makkah al-Mukarramah that Wednesday, November 18, 2009 is the 1st day of Dhul Hijjah.
Therefore, Hajj (Day of ‘Arafah) will be on Thursday, November 26 and Eid al-Adha will be on Friday,
November 27, inSha’Allah.
Two Eid prayers will, inSha'Allah, be held on Masjid grounds at 8:00am and 8:30am. Please follow the link on the left for directions to
Masjdi Al-Momineen. We look forward to seeing you there.
Udhiya/Qurbani is "Wajib"
It is best if you can slaughter an animal for Eid yourself. However, if circumstances won't allow you to, there are many resources on
the Internet which promise to take care of this important obligation for you. The added benefit is, of course, that the slaughtered meat will
be served to the poor in the country of your choice. Remember, Udhiyah or animal sacrifice is an act of worship dating back to prophets
Ibrahim and Ismail, may Allah's Blessings be upon them. This act is "Wajib" on every Muslim adult, male and female who can afford it.
Here are a couple of links to credible sites that offer Udhiya services:
